Middlesex University was officially established in 1992 and has since gained recognition as a premier international institution for higher education, known for its exceptional academic standards and the employability of its graduates. The origins of Middlesex University trace back to the late 1880s, with the founding of two educational establishments in north London: St Katherine’s College and the Hornsey School of Arts and Crafts. These institutions eventually merged to form Middlesex Polytechnic in 1973. The institution was granted university status by Royal Assent in 1992. Currently, our Dubai campus hosts 2,500 students representing 90 different nationalities, reflecting our strong academic credentials. Globally, Middlesex University collaborates with leading institutions that share our commitment to excellence, innovation, and ambition. The Quality Assurance Agency’s institutional audit in 2003 awarded Middlesex the highest possible rating, and a 2006 survey recognized the University as the second best in the UK for teaching excellence. Additionally, we are among the few UK universities to have received three consecutive Queen’s Anniversary Prizes, along with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Our research profile is robust and continues to improve, bolstered by a significant investment in research announced in 2004.
